Experience Sea Storm in a Teacup at Northallerton library

Northallerton library is inviting families to experience Sea Storm in a Teacup during the February half-term school holiday.

In this new play by Gemma Curry, writer of The Sleep Pirates, a chance meeting, an act of kindness and an unusual present – a mermaid that won’t stop growing – lead a lonely young girl on the most unexpected journey. This epic adventure of mystery and magic is presented by Hoglets Theatre and uses interactive storytelling, live music, movement and puppetry.

Sea Storm in a Teacup will be at Northallerton library on Monday, 25 February, at 10.30am. It will be followed by an optional workshop with the play’s cast and creative team, in which children will be introduced to the world of puppetry, meet the mermaids used in the show and learn how to make and manipulate their own shadow puppet mermaid. All materials are included in the price.

The play, which lasts about 40 minutes, is aimed at children aged three to eight years and their parents. Tickets cost £4. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Children aged up to two years will be admitted free with a paying adult. Tickets for the puppetry workshop, which will start at 11.15am, cost £2.
