The East Riding of Yorkshire coast will once again welcome anglers from the UK and abroad as they take their place at the 26th Paul Roggeman European Open Beach Championship (EOBC) from Friday, 15 February to Sunday, 17 February.
The three-day beach fishing competition stretches from the north end of North Marine Promenade, Bridlington to Pilot Jetty at Spurn Point, with participants competing for fantastic cash and tackle prizes out of a total prize fund of £35,000.
Advance tickets are in high demand (via www.eobc.co.uk) with anglers from across Europe wanting to take part in the competition. Tickets will also be available between 7–10pm on the Friday and 7–9am on Saturday and Sunday from the EOBC site office at Sand le Mere Holiday Village, Tunstall.
The increasingly popular warm-up ‘Flattie Bash’ event will take place on Friday, 15 February, kick-starting a full weekend of angling.
This catch and release event will be held at Hornsea and Mappleton with fishing times between 10.30am–2.30pm. Tickets are £10 per person (cash only) with registration taking place on the day at Hornsea Floral Hall from 8–10.30am.
Fishing times for the main championship starts at 9am on both the Saturday and Sunday of this exciting weekend, with the results and prizes announced and handed out on both evenings at the event HQ (Sand le Mere Holiday Village).
