Notices have been issued to demolish a block of flats in Withernsea that have been blighted with vandalism and anti-social behaviour problems.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council has issued the statutory notices for the demolition of the flats on Cherry Tree Avenue in the town along with the former Whitethorne Avenue Community Centre.
The notices will be displayed for a 28-day consultation period to give local residents advance notice of the demolition.
All tenants have now been found alternative accommodation and the buildings have been boarded up and secured to prevent further crime and anti-social behaviour taking place.
Once the notices expire, a contractor will clear the site and leave it in a safe condition until the redevelopment work starts.
Proposals for the development of the site will include a mix of new two-bed houses and one-bed flats in order to meet local demand and plans are expected to be submitted in the spring, in consultation with local residents.
