Bolton Cares, the adult social care company established by Bolton Council is celebrating its first anniversary.
Bolton Cares, which was established in July 2016, is a not-for-profit company that provides a range of care and support for adults in the community including: supported living services; day care; extra care services; short breaks and the shared lives and outreach service
Over the last year, the company has grown and now employs around 500 staff. It has also taken on new business and has expanded its day care, extra care services and shared lives services. In March, Bolton Cares was awarded a contract from the council to deliver extra day care services. Bolton Cares has also taken on the running of six new Extra Care schemes across the borough and now looks after a total of over 250 extra care users at 10 locations across the borough.
The company is celebrating with a series of events including a garden party for staff, service users and families and carers at the Jubilee Centre on Friday 7 July. The Jubilee Centre has been recently refurbished, including repainting and new toilets and bathrooms, as well as the installation of a new community garden, which will provide a place of relaxation for service users, staff and the local community.
To celebrate its first anniversary, Bolton Cares is also launching its own staff awards to honour and reward the work of Bolton Cares employees who meet the values of the organisation, deliver high quality, compassionate care and support; put people first; are warm, friendly and caring; go the extra mile; tell it like it is and who help people live better lives. Service users and families can nominate staff for an award by going to the Bolton Cares website www.boltoncares.org.uk
